Giving
Our giving to God’s work is a large part of our worship as followers of Jesus Christ. Giving is a wonderful way to partner with God in His great mission. We believe in investing financially, as well as with our gifts, time and prayers, into activities that advance God’s message of good news, in our community and around the world. This will include the planting of new churches and ministry to the poor.
It costs money to plant and maintain local churches with all their ministries and outreaches. As a church, we regularly give out of our own income to support the work of Relational Mission (the family of churches that we are joined to), and People International (who work in Central Asia). We also give to other works that God puts us in relationship with.
Why we give
Giving is a heart issue. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 we read, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Giving is also an adventure of faith. We get to experience the flow of God’s supernatural provision as we step out in obedience to his gentle promptings.

The importance of Gift Aid

If you pay Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the UK, we can claim back 25p on every £1 you donate through the Gift Aid scheme, recovered from the money you’ve paid in those taxes. To allow us to do this, please complete this online Gift Aid declaration.
If you are a UK higher rate (40 per cent) or additional rate (45 per cent) income tax payer and you give to Open Doors Network directly and allow us to reclaim the basic rate tax through Gift Aid then you may recover, through your tax return, the difference between the basic rate tax that Open Doors Network recovers and the higher or additional rate that you have paid.
How can you give?
Online
If you would like to give a donation using a debit card then we have an online giving platform through Stewardship. The charge they make is 3% on any gift you give which goes towards their charity. You are also able to gift aid through this and your gift can remain anonymous. Just click on the button below.
If you’d like to give regularly by standing order you can email our Treasurer for more information. This way of giving saves you time and effort, reduces our staff time in handling payments and allows us to budget more effectively.
Give as you Live donation platform
As a charity, we have signed up to a donation platform called ‘Give as you Live’ as another way for you to give easily into the church with no extra cost.
It works by donating a percentage of your spending online at a variety of stores including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, as well as other well know high street stores such as Boots and M&S.

Once signed up you can download an app or extension on your device by going to this link: Download The App from Give as you Live Online | Give as you Live Online and downloading the donation reminder. Then every time you go onto a retail website where ‘Give as you Live’ is affiliated, it will redirect you automatically and donate for you once you are signed in. On your phone or tablet you can also download the app from the same link and make purchases through this to raise money if this is your preferred way to shop.
Accountability
Every effort is made to ensure that the money given to New Life Church is used responsibly and wisely. We therefore have measures in place to safeguard money given to Open Doors Network (our registered charity name). As a Charitable Trust and Company, we are governed by both Charity and Company Law. Our Trustees receive regular accounts and ensure money is used for the purpose for which it was given.
